Hot dog!
Our fourth duo album, Volume 4, is now findable in all the places!
Check it out on Bandcamp or YouTube or Spotify or Amazon or wherever else you enjoy listening.
It’s also getting some airplay! Folk Alley featured it and gave it a mighty kind review. But we’re carrying on with our unprofessional unconventional approach to “the biz” by cranking up our album promo AFTER it’s released. So stay tuned…

A note: The physical distribution part of the dealio (aka “buying a CD”) is currently only happening via our site and our Bandcamp (aka “from us”), and we don’t ship outside the United States. BUT: the CD will be available all over the place in the not-too-distant future.
And have you seen our lyric video?
One thing about this album…
Today marks exactly 30 years since the first album came out on Dead Reckoning Records. And Volume 4 is going to be the final release from the label. There’s a lot to say about that, and a lot of stories behind the formation of this influential indie collective. Yesterday Kieran let me turn on the phone and capture a bit of his reminiscing, which I turned into this first installment on the topic of how Dead Reckoning began:
More things about this album:
Like all of our other duo albums, we recorded it ourselves, live at home. (Some of it was recorded in the bunk house up at the cabin, and some of it was recorded here in Nashville.) But we also mixed this one at home! Then we hauled the files over to Charles Yingling at the Blue Room for his (very patient) mastering.
We enlisted Lucas Kane (Kieran’s multi-talented son) to play his very cool vintage floor tom on a few tracks.
The painting on the cover is by Kieran. The package was designed by my brother Jonah.

Tidbits
The previously-lauded “cousin Annie” (Anne Toews) has a keen eye—she spotted KK in this fabulous bit of footage someone had shared online:
(He’s the one shaking hands with Randy at the 1:07 mark, if you aren’t as eagle-eyed as cousin Annie.) And if you want to go FULL ON with your time-travel, you can watch the entire Country Music Awards ceremony from 1987 (in which Kieran and Jamie O’Hara show up numerous times, including a brief live performance by the O’Kanes).
Thank you!
Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to all y’all for reading, listening, and sticking with us... plus an EXTRA big dose of gratitude to those of you who preordered the album on Bandcamp! Thank you for sustaining us.
Till soon —
